We’re thrilled to announce an open reading period for full-length and chapbook-length manuscripts in poetry, creative nonfiction, literary fiction, and hybrid work.

If your project has one foot in the real and one in the imagined, or if it has no feet at all but somehow still moves us — send it.

Manuscripts will be read by Diana Le (Publisher) and Kelsey Sipple (Book Editor), and submissions will go directly to the top of the stack — no gatekeeping, no slush pile middlemen. Just your work in our hands.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking previously unpublished manuscripts that feel complete as they are. We love cohesive collections that build momentum through the way pieces speak to one another, or a singular, sustained long work that carries its own internal gravity

We accept:

• Poetry 
• Creative nonfiction 
• Literary fiction
• Hybrid works that cross or confuse genre lines
• Novellas
• Short story collections

We do NOT accept:

• Zines
• Photo books
• Academic writing
• Genre fiction (e.g., romance, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery)
• Anthologies of multiple authors
• Previously published books (though individual pieces previously published in journals are welcome)

Manuscript Details

Length
Chapbook-length: ~40–70 pages
Full-length: ~70+

We’re flexible! If you’re near those ranges, don’t sweat the numbers.

Visuals
We welcome work that incorporates visuals, diagrams, or unconventional layouts. If your manuscript includes images, please keep in mind that final books will be printed in black-and-white and formatted for a 5.5" x 8.5" trim size.

Font & formatting:
Times New Roman, 12pt (or a similar serif font)
Double-spaced (unless special formatting is integral to the piece).

Timeline & Simultaneous Submissions

Simultaneous submissions are welcome. If your work is accepted elsewhere, please withdraw your submission promptly (and congrats!). We expect to respond to all submissions by October 1, 2025. Please don’t query before then unless there’s a technical issue.

Keep in Mind

While we’re open to discomfort, we are not open to harm. We will not consider manuscripts that celebrate or excuse racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any form of violence or discrimination.
